Food Bank Week 2!

The first week was a great success! We served over 560 lbs of fresh fruits and veggies including apples, bananas, oranges, strawberries, yams, cabbage, lettuce, tomatoes, and carrots.

Upper Darby Corporation for Community and Economic Development (UDCCED) and Fruits of the Family Table (FOTFT)  are sponsoring a fundraiser to support the local Upper Darby Food Bank.  All donations will be used to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables and meats for the Food Bank.

The people were so surprised to get fresh produce.  They looked at us as if to say….what?!

The Upper Darby Food Bank has served the community for the past 15 years and has stepped up its work during the COVID 19 Pandemic to serve many more people.  Let’s spread the word!  Our goal is to purchase $1000 per week of fresh products for the Food Bank for 4 weeks…starting the week of May 10!

Cupboard volunteer and director Debbie Miller. Thanks to the coronavirus shutdown, the food bank now serves double the number of people each day. * See Inquirer Article
